Roaches          call or e-mail for prices 845-352-1147

Everybody hates roaches. They make you feel dirty. They look prehistoric. (actually they are) They are the scourge of apartment dwellers, restaurateurs and previously, the pest control industry as well. Luckily things have improved greatly in the last few years. Industry has developed bait products that work great. Combine the new products with old fashioned good sanitation and roaches are controlled better than ever.

A Brief Overview

Roaches really are prehistoric, they have been around for more than 300 million years and are among the oldest living things on the planet, so it's no surprise humans are still trying to figure out how to get rid of them, they have to be pretty feisty to have survived this long.

Roaches can live weeks without food or water, they have adapted to conditions in nearly every corner of the globe, and they will eat all kinds of things from your leftover crumbs to glue and soap. The biggest problem with roaches is not how ugly they are or what they are willing to eat but the way they can effect human health. Cockroaches are known to carry at least 13 diseases. Food poisoning, typhoid, dysentery, hepatitis and leprosy to name a few. They are now known to be responsible for Asthma, allergies and respiratory problems as well. They spread disease by contaminating food sources and our living spaces through simple body contact and with their saliva and excrement.

The Bug Runner uses the most up to date products and methods available. We are always watching for the latest developments to keep our clients happy and our business on the cutting edge. As we say... Service, safety and a satisfied customer are our first priority at The Bug Runner!

Management

few years ago we would now talk about emptying your cabinets and packing up all the people, plants and animals to leave for 4 to 6 hours. Heavy chemical use in the form of sprays and fogs was the way to go! and forget about it if you had small children, you'd have to wait till they were old enough, then keep them out for a couple of days! Thank goodness those days are gone and our new methods are much easier, safer, and more effective.

The first step in controlling roaches is to improve sanitation
.

bullet Store food in airtight plastic or glass containers
bullet Wipe up food spills immediately
bullet Keep counters, floors and cabinets clean
bullet Vacuum frequently
bullet Keep garbage cans tightly covered
bullet Don't leave dirty dishes in sink or dishwasher
bullet Clean out sink and drain nightly
bullet Do not store newspapers and paper bags
bullet Clean bottles and cans for recycling
bullet Clean stove top, oven and burner trays regularly
bullet Seal cracks and crevices

Doing these things will help eliminate the easy and obvious food sources but alone will not get rid of roaches. The use of a roach bait is needed as well.  These new products allow for better control without the inconvenience, odor or exorbitant cost previously associated with this service.
