Roaches really are prehistoric, they have been around for more than 300 million years and are among the oldest living things on the planet, so it's no surprise humans are still trying to figure out how to get rid of them, they have to be pretty feisty to have survived this long.
Roaches can live weeks without food or water, they have adapted to conditions in nearly every corner of the globe, and they will eat all kinds of things from your leftover crumbs to glue and soap. The biggest problem with roaches is not how ugly they are or what they are willing to eat but the way they can effect human health. Cockroaches are known to carry at least 13 diseases. Food poisoning, typhoid, dysentery, hepatitis and leprosy to name a few. They are now known to be responsible for Asthma, allergies and respiratory problems as well. They spread disease by contaminating food sources and our living spaces through simple body contact and with their saliva and excrement.

few years ago we would now talk about emptying your cabinets and packing up all the people, plants and animals to leave for 4 to 6 hours. Heavy chemical use in the form of sprays and fogs was the way to go! and forget about it if you had small children, you'd have to wait till they were old enough, then keep them out for a couple of days! Thank goodness those days are gone and our new methods are much easier, safer, and more effective.
The first step in controlling roaches is to improve sanitation.

Store food in airtight plastic or glass containers |

Wipe up food spills immediately |

Keep counters, floors and cabinets clean |

Vacuum frequently |

Keep garbage cans tightly covered |

Don't leave dirty dishes in sink or dishwasher |

Clean out sink and drain nightly |

Do not store newspapers and paper bags |

Clean bottles and cans for recycling |

Clean stove top, oven and burner trays regularly |

Seal cracks and crevices

Doing these things will help eliminate the easy and obvious food sources but alone will not get rid of roaches. The use of a roach bait is needed as well. These new products allow for better control without the inconvenience, odor or exorbitant cost previously associated with this service.
